GM brands perform well on New Markets in 2008

GM sold a record number of vehicles in the "New Markets"

 

GM sold a record number of vehicles in the „New Markets" (Belorussia, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan). Opel car sales are up 85 % and Chevrolet sales increased by 28% last year.

The biggest increase was in the sales of Opel cars in Azerbaijan: 250% followed Moldova with 111% however Belorrusian sales also nearly doubled. Chevrolet sales also reached record number, the biggest increase was in Armenia by 123% while Georgian sales were also up more than 50%.

„We aim to keep the momentum in 2009 as well by introducing the car of the year, the new Opel Insignia during the first quarter this year and also by bringing the all new Chevrolet Cruze compact car to our dealers during the second quarter"- said Alexander Moinov, Director of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales in charge of the New Markets today.
